AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook continued to show his versatility at the back for the Cherries on Saturday.

After previously playing at centre half and at left back earlier this season, Cook moved back across the back four to right back for the Cherries trip to Doncaster.

It wasn’t the first time Cook had been used as a right sided full back this season and with Simon Francis struggling with a hip injury, Howe opted to stick with Cook instead of using the loan market.

Cook feels confident in any position at the back and with the Cherries collecting their first clean sheet under Eddie Howe, Cook praised the whole team following the victory.

Cook told afcb.co.uk

“I`m more than happy to play in any position the manager asks me to, I have played right back a few times before, so it didn`t feel too different…’

‘…We never let Doncaster have any real chances where you felt they could have scored – we were solid throughout.

‘Shaun MacDonald was very disciplined in front of us, so I would say we performed well with a back six (James, Cook, Elphick, Addison, Daniels).

‘We are now looking like a side who are very hard to break down and that is important…”
