AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook was delighted to score a stoppage time winner against Barnsley on Saturday.

After finding themselves on the the wrong end of a 90th minute winner against Charlton on Tuesday when Dorian Dervite scored, the Cherries took all three points in dramatic style at Oakwell.

It was scrappy, with the ball eventually being bundled into the net by Steve Cook.

The victory lifted the Cherries to 11th in the Championship. With nine games of the season remaining, AFC Bournemouth are currently ten points adrift of the play-offs and seventeen points clear of the relegation places.

Cook told BBC Radio Solent

‘I can’t stop smiling at the moment, It ended up being chested in, but I would have taken any type of goal at that stage.

‘On Tuesday, it was my man who scored the goal, so it was a tough few days for me.

‘I thought it was a good header (by Dervite at Charlton), but when it’s your man you have to look at yourself.

‘Luckily enough for me, I got the winner today. It’s crazy the range of emotions you go through in football and it’s a great feeling at the moment.’
