The CM board have released a statement in response to Stu Walker’s resignation…

CM STATEMENT

The Cm regrets that Stuart Walker has decided to post his resignation statement in the manner that he has chosen.

We are all aware of the financial situation at the club and the Cm has spoken at length to the Main Board detailing our concerns. However it must be appreciated that the club is talking to interested investors but these talks take time and some of the comments made are not helping in these efforts.

Yes we would all like to see the ‘White Knight’ that would banish all our problems away with a wave of his cheque book but in the real harsh world of Football Finance these people are extremely rare and clubs have to manage on exceedingly tight budgets and the perseverance of their creditors. In the case of AFCB we have been saddled with debts and problems for many years and it is a credit to the club that we have survived. The S & L however unpopular enabled the club to carry on but in no way has it answered all the problems.

In the present climate it requires all parties to work together to find the right solution and it is sad when a member of the CM chooses to leave and air his grievances instead of fighting for what we have been elected to stand for.

We at the Cm are totally committed in our efforts to help secure the long term future of the club. We are not afraid to speak out if issues arise which we feel are not in the clubs best interests and have voiced our concerns on a number of occasions.

The club needs stability and unity especially now and it is vital that all of us work together to protect the club that we fought so hard to save not so long ago.
