CM Calls For Unity

The AFC Bournemouth Community Mutual have called for fans to unite behind the club.

The local press have dubbed the Cherries ‘a team in turmoil’, with no Chairman, reportedly losing tens of thousands of pounds a month and battling relegation from league one, it’s hard to argue their claims.

But with the recent resignation of Abdul Jaffer from the board, the CM now holds a majority position in the board room of 3 CM board members to 2.

Alongside the 51% voting rights that the Community Mutual holds with the golden shares, this puts the CM in its strongest position since it was formed.

A recent statement by the CM reads…

Recent Changes on the main AFC Bournemouth Board have resulted in the Community Mutual making up three of the five places. We appreciate that this brings extra responsibility to our appointed board members and to those to whom we have delegated responsibility for negotiations with the consortium and any other interested parties. With other parties showing an interest the Community Mutual look forward to meeting with any one wishing to invest in the club and its future.

It is our resolve to carry out the duties to which we have been assigned in a thorough and professional manner and to work with all to achieve the best possible outcome with regards to the future of the Football Club.

We are still involved in meetings and conversations with the consortium and this is part of an ongoing process, We understand that the consortium will shortly be presenting to the CM and Shareholders its proposals with regards to a new constitution. We have been heavily involved in this and we await this first draft with interest.

We urge all fans now to get behind and support the Club, Community Mutual the Manager and Players. Your support is vital to the future of the club.
