Cherries to make Best move?

AFC Bournemouth have been linked with a move for Southampton striker Leon Best.

Last week Southampton Manager George Burley confirmed that some of his young stars would be allowed to make loan moves next season, while Cherries Manager Sean O’Driscoll also confirmed that he had made enquiries with Southampton to see who exactly is available. Click here for previous story.

Today on popular Southampton Fans’ site SaintsForever‘s message board, 19 year old striker Leon Best has been linked with a loan move to Dean Court.

Described as a immense physical presence by Southampton’s official website, the youngster had two loan spells with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday last season. He scored on his debut for the Owls, but then suffered a recurrence of a broken foot injury which he initially suffered during last seasons pre season campaign.

Once he recovered he re-joined the Owls and in total he made 5 starts (8 sub appearances), scoring 2 goals.

Although the move is only a rumour, with the fact that Best’s Southampton squad number is 27, Cherries fans’ will be praying that that is an omen of things to come!
