AFC Bournemouth’s pre-season training camp in Spain has ended and the club have now returned from Marbella, fresh off of a defeat to Israeli Premier League side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola welcomed Dominic Solanke back to the squad after he had missed the opening friendly match with Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Neto started in goal with James Hill and Ben Greenwood making up the numbers in defence alongside Marcos Senesi and Illya Zabarnyi, in midfield Lewis Cook, Ryan Christie, Dango Ouattara, Justin Kluivert and Hamed Traore all supported Solanke.

On 34 minutes Darren Randolph replaced Neto, but the outfield changes waited for half time, Greenwood, Christie, Traore, Senesi and Solanke all made way for Adam Smith, whose inclusion was a relief after it was thought he had suffered an injury in the game against Hibs, Philip Billing, David Brooks, Gavin Kilkenny and Owen Bevan.

Further changes followed on 60 minutes, with Randolph making way for Mark Travers, Zabarnyi off for Chris Mepham, Cook off for Dominic Sadi, Ouattara off for Jaiden Anthony and Kluivert making way for Kieffer Moore.

With four minutes of the game remaining a deflected effort from Sayid Abu Farhi beat Travers and that was enough to split the two teams.

Your say…

To me it only demonstrated the need to sign players quickly. Hill and Greenwood at full-back when Iraolas style is overlapping full-backs was always going to be insipid.

I still worry about Traore who was a lot of money and I’m not sure what he brings to the party. – To join the conversation, click here.
