AFC Bournemouth and south coast neighbours Southampton are interested in signing Chelsea defender Nathan Ake in the summer.

Ake made the move to the Cherries on a season long loan deal during pre-season.

The Netherlands Under 21 international had impressed following a run of starts in the Premier League where he had scored three goals, including the last minute winner a 4-3 victory over Liverpool.

His performances however didn’t only impress those at Dean Court, but also those at Stamford Bridge and the Premier League leaders opted to cut short his loan to recall him to the full Chelsea squad.

Following his departure in January, Ake told afcb.co.uk

‘…From the first day I joined I was made to feel part of the group. Everyone took me in and welcomed me and as a result both myself and partner settled quickly.

Ake however has failed to break into Chelsea’s Premier League side and instead has had to settle for just two appearances in the FA Cup against Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Daily Telegraph have suggested that Nathan Ake could be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge, but that may not guarantee he will stay with the Premier League champions elect.

The report stated…

‘Nathan Ake may leave Chelsea, either on loan or permanently, again in the summer.

‘Bournemouth, where he spent the first half of the season on loan, and Southampton are both interested in Ake…’

In your brief spell with us you showed what an exciting talent you are. One of our best loan signings in a while and remember we have a great beach at Bournemouth much better than the sad looking kings road.Join the conversation here.
