Championship side snap up Premier League defender

After four years on the south coast, Jack Stacey has announced that he will leave AFC Bournemouth to join Championship outfit Norwich City in the summer.
The 27-year-old made the move to the Cherries from Luton Town in July 2019 for a fee in the region of £ 4 million.
He would go on to make 98 appearances for the club in all competitions, including 29 in the Premier League.
Last season he found himself very much a squad player under AFC Bournemouth head coach Gary O’Neil, dropping down the pecking order for the right-back/wing-back position behind Adam Smith, Ryan Fredericks and Chris Mepham.

He leaves Dean Court on a free transfer following the expiry of his current contract.
On 1st July he will officially become a Norwich City player, having agreed on a three-year contract at Carrow Road.

“Jack is a player we’ve been aware of for some time. He has a lot of experience, throughout the Football League and in the Premier League, and a great attitude and desire to drive this football club forward.
“He has all of the characteristics that a modern-day full-back requires and knows exactly what it takes to be successful at this level.
“We’re delighted to have won the race to sign him, and to have got the deal done early, as we know there was a lot of interest in him.
“We look forward to welcoming him to the group when our pre-season training commences.”

Think he was a good signing for us – with a 25-man squad needing players who aren’t quite good enough for starting slot but good enough to fill in when called upon without rocking the boat when game time is limited. It’s a difficult situation.
