After Tuesday night’s League Cup win, the Cherries now host Everton for a second time at Dean Court, this time it’s a Premier League game on Saturday at 3 pm. This will be our last game before the break for the World Cup. Everton are one place and one point above the Cherries who sit precariously just above the relegation zone which is occupied by our ‘neighbours’ Southampton.

Frank Lampard has been in charge at Everton since the 31st January this year, his previous clubs as manager were Chelsea and Derby County. He took over from Rafael Benitez who had been the previous manager. When Lampard took over Everton after 20 games were in 16th place with 19 points. At the end of the season, they were in the same position with 39 points.

In the Summer Everton signed six players, plus two on loan. Midfielders Amadou Onana from Lille for £33.5 million, James Garner from Manchester United for £15 million and Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain for £8 million. Striker Neil Maupay for an undisclosed fee from Brighton. They signed two players from Burnley, winger Dwight McNeil for an undisclosed fee and on a free transfer, defender James Tarkowski. The two on loan are defenders Conor Coady from Wolves and Ruben Vinagre from Sporting Lisbon.

In their away games this season the Toffees have beaten Saints 1-2. Drawn 1-1 with both Brentford and Leeds United and 0-0 with Fulham. Lost three games, Aston Villa 2-1, Spurs 2-0 and Newcastle United 1-0. At home they have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 3, the latest was 0-2 against Leicester City.

The last time we met Everton at Dean Court was in September 2019 in the Premier League and the fifth game of the season. Callum Wilson put the Cherries in front but Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised before half-time. In the second half Ryan Fraser who had come as a substitute made it 2-1 and Callum Wilson added a third to give AFCB a 3-1 win.

In all our home league games against Everton, AFCB have W 3, D 2, L 0.
In all competitions against Everton, AFCB have W 5, D 2, L 8.

AFCB Team News
Lloyd Kelly, David Brooks and Neto will miss the game through injuries. Chris Mepham is suspended for this game.

AFCB Player To Watch
Marcus Tavernier after his performance against Leeds, with a goal plus two assists. According to one report, he has completed the most dribbles in the league this season, that is with AFCB having seen less of the ball than any other team in the top flight. After being rested on Tuesday night, we need Kieffer Moore and Dominic Solanke to capitalise on any chances against a defence who have only conceded 14 goals, the fourth-best in this league.

Everton Team News
On their injury list is Andros Townsend with a knee injury, Ben Godfrey has a foot injury. In the game against Leicester City, three players picked up injuries, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has a hamstring strain. Amadou Onana has a foot injury and Idrissa Gueye has a thigh injury, but Frank Lampard is hoping those two could be fit for Saturday.

Everton Player To Watch
Alex Iwobi in midfield has scored 1 goal this season and has 5 assists so far. Was probably their best player against Leicester City last weekend. Everton with the third-lowest number of goals scored in the Premier League, face AFCB’s defence with the worst goals-against record this season.

The Referee
The man in charge is Craig Pawson, this will be the third time he has been our referee this season. The other two, are the Arsenal home game and the away at Newcastle.
