Kevin Bond has received a vote of confidence from AFC Bournemouth Chairman Abdul Jaffer.

Bond has been at the club for less than 2 weeks, but a poor first half performance against Rotherham in his first home game, seems to have put some early pressure on Bond and the board of AFC Bournemouth.

The Cherries board took 5 weeks to name a new manager after Sean O’Driscoll announced his decision to leave for Doncaster Rovers.

Since O’Driscoll left, AFC Bournemouth have slipped from 8th place in the table, 5 points from the automatic promotion places, to 20th place, 1 point above the relegation zone (10 points from automatic promotion).

The League One table this season appears to still be very close and that could be the Cherries saving grace this season. There is still a long way to go and Bournemouth could yet turn this season around. But only if they can find that winning formula sooner rather than later.

Speaking to the Daily Echo Jaffer said…

‘I’ve heard certain fans say we’ve made the wrong appointment after just two games! Unfortunately, it is the nature of football that people expect instant results, but it just doesn’t work like that.

‘I haven’t questioned his appointment at all. I spoke to Kevin after the game and he was pretty upset, but I let him know he has my full support.’
