The Cherries will prepare for the Tuesday night game against Oldham by staying at Mottram Hall in Cheshire.

AFC Bournemouth were handed a nightmare double header by the football league, with trips to Leeds and Oldham separated over 4 days.

If the Cherries had opted to travel north, return home, travel back up to the north of England and come home again, the players would have covered 1,048 miles.

Bond told the Daily Echo

‘We’ve been able to negotiate a deal that has meant we’re able to stay up there at no extra cost to what it would have cost to go up, come back, go up and come back again.

‘The tiredness involved was a major factor. We have the facilities to train where we’re staying and it gives the lads a chance to get together.

‘It’s been a difficult time and it will give them chance to spend time with one another and it will be beneficial for morale and group bonding.’
