The Cherries came back from a fluke Scunthorpe goal as James Hayter struck to share the points between the two sides.

The Cherries made three enforced changes to the starting eleven with Stephen Purches, Dani Rodrigues and Eddie Howe in for Drew Surman (back to Southampton), Stephen Foley (injury) and Neil Young (1 match suspension).

Scunthorpe took the lead when striker and top scorer Billy Sharps scored in the 6th minute with an intented cross from the right wing to the back post which canonned in off the upright instead.

The Cherries came out the stronger in the second half and fought back with a flurry of chances. The deserved goal finally came with 5 minutes remaining when substitute James Coutts’ attempt was closed down by the keeper for Hayter to knock into the net to make it 1-1.

The match also saw the return of Jason Tindall after almost 3 years out of the game due to injury. He replaced the injured Eddie Howe who picked up a knock late on.
