AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic believes the Cherries have shown the potential to hit a Premier League winning streak.

The Cherries have started the season with a disappointing run of results and currently sit one place from the bottom of the Premier League.

Only Crystal Palace, who now hold the unenviable record of holding the worst start to a campaign in the top flight of English football in history, are below the Cherries.

Begovic, a summer signing from Chelsea, has played all 7 Premier League games thus far this season for AFC Bournemouth, replacing Artur Boruc as the Cherries first choice goalkeeper.

Begovic told the Daily Echo

‘…I think our performances over the past month or so have showed we are a good team and a tough team to play against when we are all on it.

“If a couple of things click, we will be on a great run and we will push up the table.”

“We are pleased with how we are playing. Little moments decide games and those things are missing right now but, overall, the performances are solid and everyone is getting better and stronger each and every game.

“I think if we keep playing like this and show a bit of consistency in the performances, then we will start picking up wins.

Loads of reasons to be cheerful.

L Cook gets his chance and grabbed it. Surman is really starting to show some form. Our back two were excellent (against Leicester). Stanislas back and looking good. The front two are maybe not linking as well as they could but we are dangerous and it feels like they will click soon.

Defoe needs the ball played where he wants it – fortunately Cook, Stan, Jordon are exactly the sort of players that will find him.
