AFC Bournemouth defender Stephane Zubar has left the Cherries on loan for League One rivals Bury.

The Cherries defender will join up with Kevin Blackwell’s squad on Friday subject to football league approval and will remain with them until the end of the season.

The 26 year old joined the Cherries in September 2011 and has made 28 appearances under former managers Lee Bradbury and Paul Groves.

However he has never featured in a side selected by manager Eddie Howe, with his last appearance coming in October against Crawley.

Howe told afcb.co.uk

“He needs to go and play, and get his career back on track.

“He`s knuckled down and been an important part of our squad behind the scenes – he`s worked hard day to day.

“But given Stephane`s age and his experience he wants to get games and we fully support that.’
