The Cherries take a break after their 2-2 Championship draw with Blackpool, to return to the League Cup. They travel up to Norfolk and visit Carrow Road for the first time in any cup competition to play newly promoted to the Premier League, Norwich City. The Canaries have had a baptism of fire since their return to the top flight. Losing at Carrow Road to Liverpool 0-3 and away against Manchester City 5-0 last Saturday.

AFCB took the lead in the 39th minute through Junior Stanislas and the score stayed the same at the end of the first half. In the second half on the 70th minute, the Canaries equalised through Onel Hernandez, but two minutes later the Cherries were back in the lead with Steve Cook the scorer and that was how it remained. In the next round, AFCB went out 1-0 away at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

Norwich City Team News
Christoph Zimmermann missed the Manchester City game due to illness. Przemyslaw Placheta was unavailable as he was recovering from Covid-19 symptoms. Sam Byram is recovering from a hamstring injury. Their manager Daniel Farke may give some fringe players a game

Norwich City Player To Watch
Last season in the Championship, Teemu Pukki scored 26 goals and had 4 assists to his name.
Billy Gilmour is another good player, on a season-long loan from Chelsea, who did well for Scotland in the recent Euro 2020 tournament.

AFCB Team News
Junior Stanislas had a recurrence of his injury and looks to miss this game. According to our manager, it’s probably too early for Adam Smith and Jack Stacey, although not mentioned that probably is the case with Lewis and Steve Cook. Also, match fitness-wise our new signing Gary Cahill. Maybe we will see Orjan Nyland in goal instead of Mark Travers and Ben Pearson to also start. Otherwise more of the same with maybe one or two youngsters who have been on the bench for league games getting a start. One more game ban, then Jefferson Lerma is back and raring to go from reports.

AFCB Player To Watch
Dominic Solanke seems to have started in a very confident reign of form, if he starts he could be our best threat to their goal.

Your say…

Wouldn’t mind Saydee getting a run-out. Could do with knowing if we’re in desperate need of cover for Dom. – Join the conversation, click here.
