AFC Bournemouth have reportedly rejuvenated their interest in Blackpool winger Josh Bowler.

During the January transfer window LancsLive reported that the Cherries, Fulham and Nottingham Forest were all interested in the 23-year-old former Queens Park Rangers youth product.

AFC Bournemouth were linked with Bowler around the same time as they completed the signing of Peterborough United winger Sirike Dembele, ironically both players would score when the two sides met at Bloomfield Road, with Dembele scoring a last-minute winner for the Cherries.

Bowler would complete the season with 8 goals and 3 assists in all competitions.

According to the Irish Sun newspaper, AFC Bournemouth have now made another move for Bowler.

The tabloid goes on to report that the Cherries “plan a cheap offer for Josh Bowler” adding “The Cherries bid more than £3million for the Blackpool winger, 23, in January but will try their luck at £1m.”

Why so low you may ask? Well, the Irish Sun added that AFC Bournemouth have tightened their belts and “do not want to spend big like they have in previous years.”

Bowler has entered the final year of his contract at Blackpool, as the North West side triggered a clause in his contract to extend for a further 12-months at the end of the most recent Championship campaign.

Always liked watching wingers play for our club, we had some good ones as well.

Seeing a really good winger like George Best when he was at the top of his game, must have taken some beating, we had a brief glimpse of him later in a Cherries shirt.

A good winger who can cross a ball well is one way of getting around a solid defence. – Join the conversation, click here.
