First Home Game – Eddie Howe – Evanilson – 125 Years
Our side got off to a good start to the season by picking up an away point on their visit to the City Ground the home of Nottingham Forest. AFCB still remain undefeated against Forest in all the last three Premier League visits and in the previous two Championship games there.
Our next Premier League game is at Dean Court and our club welcome back Eddie Howe for his third visit as the Magpies manager, it is also the 125 years of the Cherries and our team will wear a special anniversary commemorative kit. The game as it was last season is being shown live on Sky, hence a 2 pm Sunday kick-off. Since our two meetings at Dean Court, Eddie’s team have left Dean Court with one point, being beaten here last season.
Newcastle United finished in 7th place last season with 60 points, which was eleven points less and three places lower than the previous season. Eddie’s side’s first game of the new season was at home at St James’ Park, it was against newly promoted Southampton who were promoted last season via the play-offs. The Magpies won, beating Saints 1-0. United had played most of the game with ten men.
The last time our two sides met at Dean Court was in November last year. It was the start of our best run of the season with a seven-game unbeaten run, which included six wins.
The Cherries won 2-0, with our goals coming in the second half from Dominic Solanke.
In all our home games against Newcastle United, AFCB have W 2, D 3, L 2.
In all competitions, AFCB have W 5, D 7, L 7.

AFCB Team News
No reports of any new injury concerns, hopefully, Marcos Senesi will be available for the squad again after his head injury.
AFCB Player To Watch
Our new Brazilian international striker Evanilson, hoping he can fill the void left by Dominic Solanke. The first look at our new players for the home fans in a competitive game, including young 19-year-old Dean Huijsen who by all accounts had an outstanding game against Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle United Team News
They have two players suspended, Fabian Schar and Sandro Tonali. On the injury front, they have Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Callum Wilson and Lewis Milley. So far in this transfer window, Newcastle United have brought in six players, including our old player Lloyd Kelly.
Newcastle United Player To Watch
There are a few, but these three, Alexander Isac, third top scorer in the Premier League last season with 21 goals. The second highest scorer for United was Anthony Gordon, 11 goals from midfield and 10 assists. Bruno Guimaries scored 7 goals and 8 assists.
The Referee
David Coote is the man in charge of this game. We had him four times last season, at home against Chelsea and away against Everton, Burnley and Arsenal.

Assuming Senesi has recovered, do you bring him back in for Huijsen, who was excellent last weekend, or reward the young man with another start but leave out one of our most effective players of last season?
Tricky one for AI.
I think I’d be tempted to take a look at Huijsen against better quality opposition. If it doesn’t work out then at least Dean will know more about what he is up against in the PL and Senesi could slot straight back in. If it does work out and he plays well again then it gets interesting. – To join the conversation, click here.
