AFC Bournemouth left back Rhoys Wiggins joined Championship side Birmingham City on a half season loan deal on transfer deadline day.
Birmingham hold an option to extend the 28 year old’s loan deal to the end of the season and Wiggins is hopeful that the option will be taken, despite only playing one game for the club since his move.
Wiggins told the Birmingham Mail…
“…It`s a club that makes sense for me. so I`m going to do my utmost to force my way into the team and perform well and hopefully extend it in January and see what it holds then…”
Wiggins returned to AFC Bournemouth for a fourth spell when the Cherries and Sheffield Wednesday agreed an undisclosed fee in the region of £200,000 on 1st February 2016.
He however didn’t feature for AFC Bournemouth since his return and is now potentially fifth choice left back behind Charlie Daniels, Tyrone Mings and summer signings Brad Smith and Chelsea loanee Nathan Ake.
“I was in an out the team at Sheffield Wednesday and then made the move to Bournemouth where I went as a back-up so I knew I wasn`t going to get too many minutes.
“But it felt like the right move at the time. Now I`m just looking to get some game time this time around.
“I have spent too many Saturdays now just watching results come in. I`m desperate now and doing everything I can to get that matchday feeling back because you can`t beat it.
