AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas has reportedly impressed Championship sides Watford and Derby following his loan spell with Blackpool.

The Cherries striker recently returned to the south coast following the end of an emergency loan spell with Blackpool, where he scored three league goals.

Blackpool manager Michael Appleton, who had previously worked with Thomas at Portsmouth, was keen to extend his stay at Bloomfield Road, but an initial one month loan extension with a view to a season long loan was rejected by AFC Bournemouth.

Thomas had previously handed in a transfer request at Dean Court, with Eddie Howe stating that Thomas has desires to make the step up to the Championship and Sky Sports believe that Blackpool could now have competition from Watford and Derby…

Watford and Derby would both welcome the opportunity to add a proven goalscorer to their ranks.

Both clubs are looking to piece together squads they hope will fire them into promotion contention before the season is out.
