Over three hundred Cherries supporters made the trip, hoping to see Eddie Howe’s unbeaten run in charge of AFC Bournemouth continue at promotion hopefuls Doncaster Rovers.
The home side had settled into life in League One quite well following their relegation from the Championship last season, they had been holding on to a play-off position before the game and had been one of the in form sides in the league.
A first half Harry Arter strike gave the visitors the lead, whilst a solid workmanlike performance limited Doncaster to just one effort on target all afternoon.
The 1-0 win means that AFC Bournemouth have now taken 16 points from a possible 18, sit 12th in League One, 5 points off the play-offs and 8 points from automatic promotion.

Boys ran their socks off in a game of few chances. I thought we sat back a bit too much second half, but apart from a ten minute period just after the break we always seemed to have a man in the right place at the right time to mop up the second ball. Think Donny only had one shot on target in the second half and a few wayward attempts in the first. Elphick is really showing his quality now, Cook deputised well at right back, Addison much better today. Our fans in good voice throughout! Going forward we struggled to create much, but one moment of quality from Harry won it for us.
MOM – the whole team, really proud of them, a gritty 1-0 in Yorkshire what more can we ask for!

That was about as comfortable a 1=0 away win as you can hope for, especially against one of the supposedly stronger teams in the division. I thought we bossed the first 20 mins and it was disappointing we didn’t score during this period. Donny did come back into it for the rest of the half but never really created any clear chances. Arter’s goal came a little out of the blue but he worked really hard all game and he and the team deserved their half time lead.
Second half I expected some sort of response from Donny but they seemed to lack ideas with Hume the only one who looked as if he could produce any sort of threat. Whilst not creating too manu chances I thought we still looked dangerous and Wes Thomas came very close after some nimble footwork just inside the box.
Absolutely agree that the team ran their socks off working really hard to close Donny down all over the pitch. Grabban and Arter stood out for me but I would agree the whole team deserve the credit.
Final point – great support today – hardly stopped singing throughout the match. Their support on the other hand was very poor but then we ensured they didn’t have much to get excited about!

That was one of the most comfortable away wins I’ve ever seen from us given the score line. They only had one shot on target and apart from some long balls into the box at the end they never threatened.
We were very organised when they had possession, with the whole team running their socks off, but even still I though Donny were very poor for a team chasing a playoff place.
