The January transfer window was thought to always be busy for AFC Bournemouth, especially following the takeover by American businessman Bill Foley, but so far, the imaginary revolving door at the entrance to Dean Court only appears to be allowing people to leave the building, as opposed to entering it.
Following on from the news that James Hill has moved north of the border to join Heart of Midlothian on a loan deal until the end of the season, two more departures were confirmed by AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday. Again, both loan deals until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
One has joined Championship side Queens Park Rangers, the other Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjælland. Both return to clubs that they have had connections with earlier in their careers.
28-year-old Jamal Lowe has made the move to London, returning to the club where he had a spell as a youngster before turning professional.
Lowe made the move to AFC Bournemouth during the 2021 summer transfer window, joining from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee, widely reported to be in the region of £1.5million.
Lowe has been primarily used as a substitute for the Cherries, with just seven of his 36 league appearances being starts.
However, from his 34 appearances in the Championship last season, Lowe scored seven goals, aiding the side to victories over Bristol City, Reading, Blackpool, Preston North End, Derby County and Coventry City.

Emiliano Marcondes made the move to AFC Bournemouth during the same transfer window as Jamal Lowe, signing on a free transfer from Brentford following their promotion to the Premier League.
Marcondes joins FC Nordsjælland, who currently sit top of the Danish Superliga chasing their second league title having only been formed in 2003 following the merger of Farum Idræts Klub and Stavnsholt Boldklub.
Like Lowe, Marcondes struggled for starts and appearances in the Championship under former head coach Scott Parker, making just eight Championship starts from his 18 league appearances for the club.
The 27-year-old however did prove successful in cup outings, scoring five goals in six appearances in the FA Cup and Football League Cup, including a hat-trick in last season’s FA Cup against Yeovil Town.

Your say…

Emiliano Marcondes, in my opinion, wasn’t quite physically strong or quick enough for Premier League and the fact three managers have had the same thought validates my opinion.
The only thing I would say though is he clearly has an eye for a goal and a sixth sense of where the ball is going to be… for that alone there have been some games this year where I’d have chucked him on ahead of ‘better’ all round substitutes. We can upgrade though. Also a thoroughly decent bloke and squad player. – To join the conversation, click here.
