Trio sidelined through injury for Bournemouth

|

AFC Bournemouth missed three key players for the trip to Rotherham United at the weekend.

Jack Stacey missed the game through a knee injury, Lewis Cook was sidelined due to an infection in his cut leg and Arnaut Danjuma missed the game through a slight hamstring injury.

Lewis Cook and Arnaut Danjuma will hopefully not be sidelined for too long, but full-back Jack Stacey is likely to miss the next couple of months with a knee ligament problem.

The 24-year-old is now preparing for his rehabilitation schedule after picking up the injury in the 4-2 win over Reading.

AFC Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall told the Daily Echo

“…he’s going to be out for a few weeks at least. Anything maybe up to eight weeks.

“But I think that was what we were hoping for in the sense that was the best case scenario.

“So he’ll be out for a period of time, but it could’ve been a lot worse. It could’ve been possibly six or seven months, so we’ve had some good news on that…

“…It’s just a ligament injury in his knee. You always fear the worst when a player does their knee, but off the back of the specialist’s opinion and our medical team, the outcome is probably the best we could’ve hoped for.”

Lewis Cook suffered his gashed leg against Nottingham Forest which required stitches, which unfortunately got infected meaning he missed out on the 2-2 draw with Rotherham United, whilst Danjuma was quick to take to social media to allay supporters fears over his hamstring injury.

On Danjuma and Lewis Cook, Tindall also told the Daily Echo

“Unfortunately Lewis Cook got a big gash where he had stitches in his thigh in the first half against Nottingham Forest, He got an infection within that. That flared up a little bit, antibiotics, but this game (against Rotherham) was probably just a day or two too soon for him.”

He continued…

“Arnie Danjuma, a very light hamstring that we felt it just best not to take that risk and potentially lose him for some time.

“I think you certainly see we missed the guys with the rhythm that we’ve had in the last three games.

Your say…
