AFC Bournemouth assistant manager Jason Tindall has revealed that Dan Gosling’s ankle injury is not as bad as initially feared.

The Cherries midfielder missed out on the FA Cup fourth round tie after picking up the injury during training.

Gosling went for a scan on his Achilles on Monday and that has shown that it should only be a short lay off for the former Newcastle United player.

Tindall hopes he could return to training next week, which means he is sidelined for Friday night’s game at home to Watford.

Tindall told afcb.co.uk

“Dan`s injury isn`t as bad as we first feared, When he first picked it up, we were quite concerned.

“But he has had scans and the results have told us that it`s better than we expected.

“Hopefully he will be back in training next week and in contention to play again soon.”
