AFC Bournemouth ‘keeper Dan Thomas has signed for Havant & Waterlooville after being released by the club.
The 20 year old goalkeeper was a product of the youth set up at Dean Court and went on to make four appearances for the club during the 2009/10 promotion campaign.
In recent seasons he has had loan spells in the non league with Dorchester, Welling and Totton and he has now agreed a permanent deal with Conference South side Havant & Waterlooville.
AFC Bournemouth goalkeeping coach Neil Moss told afcb.co.uk…
‘He’s a great lad to have around but to be fair to him he won’t be pushing in front Shwan or Darryl for next year. There’s no point keeping him and having him sit as third choice ‘keeper…’
‘…It’s disappointing but he needs to go off and play first team games, and we can’t offer that to him at this time.’
Cherries manager Lee Bradbury added…
‘It wasn’t an easy decision but I feel it was in his best interests, and I wish him all the best for the future…’
