The world’s oldest football club competition may be losing some of its shine as the year’s pass, but there’s still something magical about the FA Cup, especially the early rounds.
Last season of course the Cherries were on the wrong end of a famous giant killing, non-league side Boreham Wood travelled down to Dean Court and caused an upset against Scott Parker’s side.
This season, the Cherries will be facing much more familiar foes in Burnley.
Recently relegated from the Premier League to the Championship, AFC Bournemouth have passed them on their way up following promotion.
Much has changed at Turf Moor, Sean Dyche has gone and been replaced by former Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany in his first managerial role.
He has currently guided Burnley to the top of the second tier of English football with 11 wins and just 2 losses from their opening 21 games.
The game takes place on the south coast on Saturday 7th January with a 3 pm kick-off.
Ticket details are yet to be announced, the procedure for tickets for the recent League Cup game with Everton was for no priority sales to season ticket holders, with tickets going straight on sale to cup point holders. For updated information, visit afcb.co.uk.

Memories of the last time we met them in the FA cup up at Turf Moor…I recall that they had just shocked Liverpool by winning with a Traore OG to rob us of a trip to Anfield which at the time was worth big money to us!
Anyway, we battered them but lost 0-2…I still don’t know how we lost the game to this day… a notable trip for me getting my first-ever speeding ticket on the way home at 1 in the morning! – To join the conversation, click here.
