Fit again James Henry is a welcome boost to Kevin Bond’s squad ahead of Sunday’s televised match at Hartlepool United.

The Reading loanee suffered a slight hamstring strain after the draw at Barrow and missed Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy encounter against MK Dons.

Henry could be utilised in a more attacking role with forwards Lee Bradbury (suspended) and Sam Vokes (International duty) unavailable for the match.

Marvin Bartley and Warren Cummings both returned to the bench following respective groin and arm injuries, but Kevin stated they are far from match fit. Bond said, ‘They’re fitness levels are nowhere near what they should be.

‘That’s not a criticism of the players, it’s only to be expected given the time out they’ve had. We’re not in a position where we can give them reserve games so they’ve got to build up their fitness in training and be used in matches as circumstances dictate.’

Gareth Stewart is set to replace Neil Moss in goal with youth team apprentice Ryan Pryce put on standby. Jem Karacan’s loan period expires before Sunday and Kevin is hoping to extend this to enable him a prolonged stay at Dean Court.

Despite Bartley and Cummings not being match fit Cherries’ unavailability list is nine strong without considering Jem Karacan and Neil Young. It includes: Neil Moss (face), Ryan Garry (shin), Russ Perrett (calf), Darren Anderton (hamstring), Sam Vokes (international duty), Steve Foley (back), Max Gradel (compassionate leave), Jean Christophe (wrist), Lee Bradbury (suspended).
