AFC Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman believes the Cherries have to pick up the points against Watford.
In the absence of Simon Francis, who is currently suspended, Surman has been wearing the captains armband and he believes that the Dean Court double header against Watford and Crystal Palace are massive games.
Following the defeat against Hull City, AFC Bournemouth dropped out of the top half of the Premier League table and are now 9 points clear of safety.
Neither Watford or Crystal Palace are on good runs of form.
Watford have lost their last five games away from home, whilst Crystal Palace are without a win in their last eight away from Selhurst Park.
Surman told afcb.co.uk…
“…We`ve got a massive game against Watford now and we need to make sure we pick up points against them. That`s a big game for us and we`ve got two big home games coming up.
“Mentally we`re strong, we`ve got good characters and a good team spirit. That helps when you do come back off some bad results, Millwall and this one (defeat to Hull) have been very disappointing.
“I`m sure we`ll pull everyone together and move onto the next one. We can`t lose too much confidence; we need to look at what we can improve on, what we can change and we need to go into the next game full of belief.”

On Field Leadership
This what we lack. Since Elphick’s departure we no longer have a person driving the team on. No really strong captain, especially Surman, wrong choice but little alternatives available. – Join the conversation here.
