AFC Bournemouth Supporters Trust today spoke with Paul Baker regarding the winding up petition currently before the courts. He has confirmed to the Trust that HMRC has used this to piggyback it`s own claim for unpaid monies.
Mr Baker confirmed that the original winding up order had been settled however, during the process, and in the last few days HMRC had decided to piggyback on the claim, therefore the winding up order is still very much live and increased albeit now adjourned until July.

However Paul did state that those parties who had expressed an interest in taking over the club had been fully aware of the level of debt and the fact that the HMRC may launch a claim and as such that this would not be a surprise and should not hamper the sale.

Mr Baker also said that two further expressions of interest had been registered with a strong liklihood that these would materialise into offers.

Paul refused to confirm the identities of the bidders, or indeed the level of debt at the club as he felt these were confidential matters.

The Supporters Trust continues to speak with interested parties and would urge any other people who would like to discuss the issue to get in touch.

We will of course endeavour to keep our members and the wider fanbase informed as far as is practicable in the coming days
