Despite his arrival at Dean Court coming just 7 weeks ago from Sheffield United for £1.5 million, Daniel Jebbison has now left AFC Bournemouth on loan to join Championship outfit Watford.

The 20-year-old, who was a product of the youth system at Sheffield United signed for the Cherries straight after the expiration of his contract at Bramall Lane, however, the two clubs agreed a £1.5 million fee to avoid having to go through the tribunal process, with Jebbison signing a four-year contract.

With Enes Unal currently injured and Dominic Solanke sold to Tottenham Hotspur, Jebbison has featured in all three games this season as record-signing Evanilson settles on the south coast.

However, with Unal edging closer to fitness and Evanilson looking sharper and sharper, now is the time for Jebbison to leave in search of regular football to aid his development.

He has made the step down to the second tier of English football, which will be a step up from his most recent stint of regular first-team football when he enjoyed a loan spell in League One with Burton Albion during the 2021/22 season.

Speaking to watfordfc.com, Jebbison said…

I am very excited, and I just can’t wait to really show how I can help the team,”

“I am a sponge right now, I want to soak up everything and learn as much as possible, and be a better player on and off the pitch.

“I want to score some goals and contribute to the team.

“There is a good structure here with good people, and good things that you don’t see behind the scenes.

“The gaffer is very ambitious in his goals, he is very clear in his mind what he wants, and we share the same values.

“I spoke to him early this morning, he has been here since I don’t know what time in the morning, that shows he has time for his job and he loves it – he is a good man.”

We’re getting desperate if relying on Jebbison or Semenyo to lead the line this season.

Good loan move imo. More important to get regular game time at this stage in his career, than playing a few minutes here and there for us.

As I said before, the fact he barely played for a poor sheff u at this level last season, gives a very good insight into his current level of ability. – To join the conversation, click here.
