STATS: AFC Bournemouth 1-0 Swansea City

Following the deeply disappointing performance and result away to Southampton last weekend, AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was expected to make a few changes.

They came with Marc Pugh and Andrew Surman returning to the starting XI.

The Cherries players were showing the fight they had been accused of lacking a week ago, it boiled over momentarily with a moment between Asmir Begovic and Simon Francis, but in the end, a well deserved clean sheet, for the defence, in particular Begovic, who arguably had his best performance in a Cherries shirt and Steve Cook who was generally outstanding.

The points, however, were secured by a well-worked set-piece that was struck by Ryan Fraser, with a slight deflection beating Fabianski.

That result meant that AFC Bournemouth moved back to 12th in the Premier League table, on 41 points, level with 10th place Newcastle United, 11th placed Crystal Palace and 13th placed Watford.
