AFC Bournemouth attacker Junior Stanislas felt the win against Stoke City was ‘massive’.
The Cherries secured all three points away to Stoke City with two quick fire goals inside three minutes.
Stanislas was involved in both goals, creating an assist for Andrew Surman to finish off a fine team goal, before stepping up to score the second from the penalty spot after Benik Afobe had been brought down inside the box.
The result sees AFC Bournemouth remain in 19th place in the Premier League, but following Saturday’s round of fixtures, the Cherries are now just one point behind 15th.
Stanislas told afcb.co.uk…
‘We haven’t picked up too many results this season and where we are in the table the most important thing is the three points.
‘It’s a massive win for us.
‘We had a great start, we were against the ropes at times but we dug in at times and defended well…’
‘…As for the penalty, Benik is a striker and of course wants to score goals, but I was confident, I wanted to take the penalty and I’m glad to get off the mark.
I thought Stan was MoM. When he plays I realize what we miss when he is injured. He has the key to unlock defences and so it was today. At time he found positions “between the lines” and stoke didn`t know what to do with him. Other stand outs were basically the spine. Surman, Cook, Ake and Francis. – Join the conversation here.
