AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas has been linked with seven clubs since his return to the south coast following a loan spell with Blackpool.

On Wednesday Sky Sports reported that both Watford and Derby have been tracking Thomas since the Cherries rejected an offer from Blackpool to extend his loan by a further month and potentially for the remainder of the season (click here).

Michael Appleton had been keen to get Thomas back to Bloomfield Road after previously taking him on loan at League One neighbours Portsmouth, but their interest has gone quiet, which happens to coincide with Blackburn Rovers making an official approach to speak to Appleton about their vacant managerial position.

The Daily Echo believe that fellow Championship clubs Burnley, Birmingham and Huddersfield are also interested along with League One promotion rivals Sheffield United.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has also told the Echo that the club have not received any inquiries regarding Thomas since Blackpool’s loan attempt was rejected and that Thomas has now rejoined the Cherries squad for training after returning from Blackpool with an injury problem.

Thomas has scored 6 goals in 15 league appearances for Portsmouth and Blackpool this season, but has only one single goal in 23 appearances in an AFC Bournemouth shirt.
