Same Commitment Needed From Bournemouth Against Leicester

Written by billythekid

All we ask to see from the team we support is they go out on the pitch and give their all. We saw that against Spurs at Dean Court on Thursday night and we picked up our first point since the lockdown and since we drew with Chelsea at Dean Court back in February. We could so easily have had 3 points but for Callum Wilson’s overhead kick and the ball touching Josh King’s hand on the way into the net. Spurs also probably feel they should have had a first-half penalty when Harry Kane was brought down in the area. But that is 4 points taken from Spurs at home in the last two seasons. Now we need to see the same display from our team against our next opponents at Dean Court. Eddie Howe would have been pleased with the fact our defence didn’t concede a goal and restricted Spurs to no shots on target for the first time this season.

Our next visitors at home are Leicester City who are in 4th place in the Premier League. In January they signed Ryan Bennett on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season, with a view to buy.
Leicester City had a good turn of form between 19th October and 6th December winning eight Premier League games on the trot, home and away. In all since we played them at the end of August, away from home before the lockdown break, they have won 6 games and that included that 0-9 at Southampton in that eight-match run. They have drawn 1 and lost 5. Since lockdown away they have drawn against Watford and Arsenal and lost against Everton. At home, before lockdown, they have won 9, drawn 3, lost 3. Since lockdown, they have beaten Crystal Palace, drawn with Brighton.

The last time we played Leicester City at home we beat them 4-2.

In all our home league games, AFCB have Won 3, Drawn 2, Lost 3. In all competitions, AFCB have Won 5, Drawn 5, Lost 8.

AFCB Team News
Apart from Charlie Daniels, Chris Mepham and Simon Francis who have been out with knee injuries, we had two players who had to be substituted against Spurs. Adam Smith who was taken off on a stretcher with a head/facial injury, so he will probably miss the game on Sunday. David Brooks from what has been said it is unsure whether it is a calf strain or cramp, so he could be available for selection.

AFCB Player To Watch
After a good team performance against Spurs, one 21-year-old has looked good in his last two games and that is our signing from Bristol City, Lloyd Kelly. We haven’t seen much of him since his signing due to injury, but in his last two games, he has looked the ‘business’. Apart from our fans if he keeps up this form, there will be a lot of other eyes on him as well.

Leicester Team News
A big loss for them could be the absence of James Maddison in midfield, with a groin injury. Ben Chilwell has been out with a foot injury. Ricardo Pereira out with a knee injury and Daniel Amartey with an ankle injury.

Leicester Player To Watch
Jamie Vardy seems to have found his scoring boots again. Having failed to find the net in his previous 3 league games, has scored 3 goals in his last two games, a brace at home against Crystal Palace and another in the away draw with Arsenal. He is the top scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals. He also scored a brace against us back in August last year.

Stuart Atwell is our referee, we had him for our first home game after lockdown against Crystal Palace.

Otherwise, he has been our referee in the two home draws against London clubs West Ham and Arsenal.
