AFC Bournemouth striker Tokelo Rantie was happy to return to action after missing the early part of pre-season through injury.

The South African International missed the friendlies against both Dorchester Town and Southampton, but returned to the starting line up against Portsmouth on Wednesday evening.

The forward opened the scoring for the Cherries during a 3-2 victory over the League Two outfit.

Rantie told afcb.co.uk

“I`m happy that I have been able to play during pre-season, I was worried about the injury because I thought it was something that was going to give me problems. I`m happy to be back.

“I felt I could have done better (against Portsmouth). I had two training sessions and I had been injured, but I was happy with my overall performance…”
