AFC Bournemouth’s development squad drew 2-2 with Exeter City at Canford Park Arena on Tuesday.

AFC Bournemouth development coach Stephen Purches named first team members Ryan Fraser and Tyrone Mings in the starting XI alongside nine regular members of the Under 21’s set-up.

Jordan Lee gave the Cherries an initial lead, before Purches’ side fell behind only for Mikael Ndjoli to find an equaliser in front of AFC Bournemouth first team managerial duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall.

Purches told the Daily Echo

‘It was bitty with regard to the sort of control we aim to play with. There were a few too many turnovers from our point of view.

‘There was no real control of what we were doing apart from in short spells. You hope there is a tempo which you can control and I don’t think we really did that.

‘It’s something to learn from…’

‘…It’s always good having the first-team lads here because they play with a calmness our lads can learn from…’

‘Fraser and Mings played 90 minutes.

Good to see Mings getting game time but I would still say way short of being ready for a Premier League outing.
