Popular utility man Stephen Purches has completed a move to Leyton Orient, having spent 7 years with the Cherries.

Born in Gants Hill, Essex, the ex-West Ham trainee has now returned to his roots to sign a two-year deal, with an option for a third, with Orient.

Purches scored 12 goals in 278 first-team appearances for Bournemouth.

He will be best remembered by the Cherries for scoring the crucial third goal in their 5-2 play-off final success against Lincoln City in May 2003.

Up the cherries would like to say thank you for all you gave us over the last 7 years and wish Stephen all the best for his future.
