Another good away result for the Cherries beating Bristol City 0-2, keeping their fifth clean sheet in the last five games away from home. The second season in a row AFCB have won at Ashton Gate. The first goal for our club from Jamal Lowe after 21 minutes and the second just before half-time and his third for the season from Jordan Zemura. This result keeps the Cherries 3 points in front of second-place West Brom and 5 points in front of third-place Fulham. Sets it up nicely for our next game on Tuesday night in front of the Sky cameras for the live game from Stoke City’s ground at 7.45 pm.

Michael O’Neil is in his third season with Stoke City, but this will be his second full season in charge. His team have had a very good start to this Championship season and after 12 games are lying 5th in the table with 21points, they are the only team to have beaten West Brom this season so far. Their home form is the second-best in the Championship, with 5 wins and a draw. AFCB are top of the Championship with 28 points. This time last season after a dozen games the Baggies were 7th with 21 points, the Cherries were in 2nd spot with 23 points,1 point behind leaders Norwich City.

The Potters in the Championship this season started with a 3-2 home win against Reading. This was followed by two away games, a 0-0 draw against Birmingham City and a 1-3 win at Swansea. Back home they beat Nottingham Forest 1-0. Then came their first and heaviest defeat this season, 3-0 away at Fulham, one of the favourites to go straight back up into the Premier League after being relegated last season. Back at home, they had two consecutive games, first beating Huddersfield Town 2-1 and then the only home draw to date 1-1 with Barnsley. Then came their second away defeat 2-1 against Derby County. The next game was a 2-1 home win against Hull City, then they drew 1-1 at Preston. Their last two games were against sides relegated from the top league last season, home against West Brom and most recently away at Sheffield United. The Potters handed the Baggies their first defeat of the season from the only goal of the game. Against Sheffield United after taking the lead, United came back with two goals in three minutes to win the game, the first from our old player Lys Mousset and the second from David McGoldrick, a player who was once on loan at AFCB.

Our last visit to the Potteries was in January this year and the Cherries won with the only goal of the game coming from Junior Stanislas. Later they beat us in the last game of the season 0-2 at Dean Court.

In league games played away against Stoke City, AFCB have W 4, D 2, L 8.

All competitions, AFCB have W 9, D 7, L 14.

Stoke City Team News
Morgan Fox and Abdallah Sima have been out injured. Tyrese Campbell after a long time out is back in training. Alfie Doughty has been ill.

Stoke City Player To Watch
Nick Powell, strong all-round player, especially from free-kicks and is their leading scorer with 5 league goals, 3 in his last 4 league games. Our old player Sam Surridge has come off the bench in his last 4 league games.

AFCB Team News
Adam Smith and Ben Pearson missed the Bristol City game, Smith through injury and Pearson through suspension, Pearson will be available for the trip to Stoke and Smith according to our manager may be available for Tuesday.

AFCB Player To Watch
With our side playing as a team, it is getting harder to pick individual players, as on the day any one of them could be that player to watch. Stoke City have only conceded 4 goals at home this season, so there may be few chances. Dominic Solanke in recent games has had a one-game gap where he hasn’t scored, so working on that basis he is due a goal at Stoke.

The referee is Dean Whitestone, he was in charge of our opening home game with West Brom.
