I’m afraid although I don’t want to be admitting this and always try and stay positive about the season ahead but I can’t help but feel slightly worried about our lack of movement in this window.

I know AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is a big believer in improving every season but has anything really happened which indicates that next seasons position/points total will be improved on?

We still have, in my opinion, the same dead wood in the team (Jordon Ibe, Lys Mousett, Andrew Surman etc) and the names we have been linked with that looked exciting prospects (eg. David Turnbull & Jack Clarke) have all seem to accepted or about to accept offers from elsewhere despite them being typical Eddie signings and not a bank breaker.

The uncertainty of Callum Wilson, David Brooks and Ryan Fraser I hope doesn’t unsettle the team and have a negative impact. From an outsiders view, I could be wrong but seems that Fraser doesn’t want to be here.

Apologies for such a negative post and I really hope everything I’ve said is wrong but I just feel lack of movement in or out may just keep us around the sort of area we don’t want to be in.

Your say…

I think the early signing of Lloyd Kelly got us all excited and expecting another two or three to follow right away. Especially when we were seemingly strongly linked to Jack Butland and Dan James at that time too.
The reality is that most clubs have done either zero or very little, partly due to it still being June, partly that for some players, they are involved in various tournaments still or on holiday.
The papers have to fill space with something, so are guessing at lots of things in the hope that something sticks.

Aside from Tyrone Mings and Fraser, we know the rest of the squad are happy to be with us unless something earth-shattering comes in.
As with every transfer window, no set of fans can really make a call on what will happen until the window closes. So let’s reconvene in four weeks and see where we are! – Join the conversation, click here.
