AFC Bournemouth attacker Hamed Traore has officially returned from his loan spell with Serie A side Napoli, ending any potential permanent move to the Italian side this summer.
In January the 23-year-old made the move to Italy, just a few short weeks after being discharged from hospital after contracting Malaria.
The Ivorian international unfortunately missed the African Cup of Nations due to his ill health and had hoped a move to Napoli would spark his return to good health and a potential permanent transfer.
The loan deal included an option to buy for €25million, however, Napoli have now opted against this.
In a brief statement on their official website, the Italian side said…
SSC Napoli today bids farewell to the following players whose contracts with the club have expired: Diego Demme, Leander Dendoncker, Pierluigi Gollini, Hubert Idasiak, Hamed Traore and Piotr Zielinski.
We would like to thank each and every one of them for their professionalism and commitment to the Napoli cause during their time in Naples. We wish them all the best for their future endeavours.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old striker Jamal Lowe has signed for Sheffield Wednesday following his release from AFC Bournemouth at the expiration of his contract last month.
Lowe hadn’t featured for AFC Bournemouth since December 2022, having spent the last season and a half out on loan with Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City respectively. The 29-year-old has scored 12 goals in the Championship for his adopted sides.
His AFC Bournemouth career included 40 appearances in all competitions, including 12 starts. Lowe scored 8 times, with all of his 7 league goals coming during the Cherries promotion season from the Championship in 2022.

Our best hope is a summer of Andoni working his magic. Traore is so low energy though I just can’t see it. Else it’s a huge loss on the balance books that will wipe out the gain we get on Kerkez or Zab. – To join the conversation, click here.
