AFC Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O’Kane has vowed to learn from his mistakes of last year.
The former Everton and Torquay midfielder has admitted to not coming back from last summers break in the best of conditions.
Following the Cherries promotion from League One to the Championship, O’Kane initially struggled to get a foothold in the side.
O’Kane had to wait until mid-September to earn his first start in the second tier, before going on to impress with a string of man of the match performances.
O’Kane told afcb.co.uk…
“…When we came back (from pre-season) I wasn`t where I needed to be and that ultimately led to me being injured in pre-season and it became difficult for me because I couldn`t get regular games at the start of the season.
“That was the big message from the gaffer at the end of the season, to make sure I come back in good condition.
“I`ll take my break and enjoy it but I will be mindful I need to train so I don`t have to wait until October or November to get my chance.”
