AFC Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O’Kane has said that it took a while for his goal against Premier League side Wigan to sink in.
The midfielder who scored his first Cherries goal since his move from Torquay in the summer against Carlisle in the second round of the FA Cup, opened the scoring against Wigan in the third round tie.
O’Kane received the ball from Harry Arter on the edge of the box, opened himself up and fired the ball into the top corner in front of the 2,713 travelling Cherries supporters.
O’Kane told afcb.co.uk…
“I was speechless when it went in, I didn`t know what to do.’
‘It’s sunk in now and I`m very proud – it`s a goal I will cherish. It will be one I`ll be showing to my grandchildren in years to come…”
‘…We now want to finish the job, but I hope that the game at the DW Stadium is one that our supporters can always have in their memories and is one to cherish.’
