AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is a transfer target for Championship outfit Newcastle United.
The report comes from chroniclelive.co.uk, who believe that ‘Newcastle United could be ready to return to south coast to lure another one of AFC Bournemouth`s big stars to St James` Park.’
The report goes on to state that their information comes via ‘sources in Hampshire’ and adds that ‘Wilson could be on United`s radar in the next six months’.
Newcastle United have already poached one of AFC Bournemouth’s fan favourites in the form of Scotland International Matt Ritchie, who opted to turn down an improved contract with AFC Bournemouth for a move to the second tier with Newcastle.
Callum Wilson proved to be a key part of the Cherries rise from the Championship, scoring 23 goals in all competitions following his £3million move from Coventry City.
Promotion to the Premier League earned Coventry an additional “six-figure sum” according to the Coventry Telegraph and the League One club would benefit again if he was sold as Coventry hold a reported 15% sell-on clause.
