Motor dealer Seward had been the club’s main sponsor since 1997 but the deal to sponsor the home shirts will come to an end at the close of this season.
Seward will remain as the clubs away shirt sponsors for the 2006/07 season.
The Echo report that the club has been talking to five or six possible new sponsors but that no deal has been agreed as yet.
The club’s new chief executive Laurence Jones is now on the hunt for a new sponsorship deal and he told the Echo ‘This is a rare opportunity for a local organisation to take up what is a unique sponsorship opportunity. The brand exposure in the Echo alone is exceptionally valuable and the new sponsor will also get their name prominently in front of many thousands of supporters at matches, on TV, on major websites and in the regional and national media.’
