AFC Bournemouth new signing Lys Mousset has dreamt about playing in the Premier League.
AFC Bournemouth completed the signing of Le Havre youngster Lys Mousset last week for an officially undisclosed fee.
The fee has been reported as in the region of ?6.5million, whilst Mousset has signed a four year deal at Dean Court.
The 20 year old is a France Under 20’s international, who made his debut for French Ligue 2 side Le Havre when he was 18.
Last season he scored 14 goals in 29 appearances as Le Havre almost won promotion to the top flight of French football.
His form led to interest from across Europe with Arsenal, Tottenham and Sunderland all said to be interested in the Premier League with Monaco and Sevilla also said to be tracking him.
Daily Echo reporter Neil Perrett on Twitter posted that Mousset would have joined south coast neighbours Southampton if Ronald Koeman had not left the club for Everton, but instead Mousset opted to make the move to Dean Court.
Mousset told L`Équipe…
‘I am very happy. The Premier League, it is the division that I have dreamt about ever since I was little. I love the game, the impact, the intensity. The last-placed team can beat the first-placed team. I cannot wait to discover all of that.
I think that I will adapt quickly. At Bournemouth, there is a desire for me to progress. I have been told that they are going to make me work. It is a project that I liked. I felt a lot of confidence and respect for me and my family. I had a fair amount of offers, from Torino, CSKA Moscow, Tottenham, Sevilla but I felt Bournemouth as they were the club that was rising in terms of strength and that wanted to progress…’
‘…I want to play, to start. Aside from that, I am not going to fix myself a number of goals that I want to score. What I can tell you, is that I really cannot wait to start. Because these matches, these are the ones that I watched on TV…’

Interesting that the official site list him as a centre forward – can play on the wing as well. – Join the conversation here.
