AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn insists that Eddie Howe will stay at Dean Court following speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle United.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been one of a host of names mentioned as potential candidates for the job at Newcastle, following Alan Pardew’s decision to leave the North East for Crystal Palace.

The Newcastle Chronicle names Howe on a seven man shortlist which also includes Christophe Galtier, Thomas Tuchel, RĂ©mi Garde, Steve McClaren, Glenn Hoddle and Paul Clement.

But AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn insists that whilst flattering, Howe wants to stay at Dean Court and continue to push for promotion to the Premier League.

Mostyn told BBC South Today

I have no doubt Eddie Howe will manage a Premier League side and it will be AFC Bournemouth,’

‘I think Steve Bruce (Hull manager) said it is always flattering when you are associated with a job. Eddie is flattered, he has a job and he has the job he longed for.’
