AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell’s post match antics have made national headlines.

The Cherries owner walked out on to the pitch after the sides 3-0 home defeat to Chesterfield.

His applause of the North Stand was greeted with chants of ‘We’ll never watch the Scummers’, in an obvious reference to Mitchell’s comments at last weeks Radio Solent Fans Forum (click here).

Mitchell then appeared to attempt to invite certain supporters onto the pitch before he was led away by five stewards.

The Cherries chairman then used the Dean Court PA system to address the fans who had remained behind after the game.

An emotional Mitchell was heard asking what supporters frustrations were and once again asked one supporter to jump the fence for a one on one chat.

The North Stand chanted ‘come back when you’re sober’ and Mitchell was eventually led away down the tunnel.

The incident has been reported by Sky Sports News, the Guardian newspaper and was tweeted by former England striker Michael Owen.
