AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell confronted protesting Cherries supporters outside the ground following the 2-1 home defeat to Walsall.

Over a hundred supporters gathered outside the Goldsands Stadium reception area following the game and chanted various anti Paul Groves chants and called for Eddie Mitchell to ‘show your face’.

The chairman promptly did and came out and attempted to calmly talk to a few supporters, until the exchange became heated with shouting and swearing coming from both Mitchell and some of the fans in attendance.

As Mitchell turned to leave one supporter threw a matchday programme, hitting Mitchell in the back of the head. While associate director Dave Roberts had to be restrained inside the Dean Court reception following an angry exchange with one supporter.
