According to a report in a tabloid newspaper, (who personally I’d prefer to not name following the despicable article regarding England cricketer Ben Stokes), AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is wanted by Manchester United.
Whilst I’d rather not name them, here at AFCB Vital we do hold a modicum of decency and etiquette, so the report was by The Sun.
They suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to continue to build his squad around young and British based players and sees 27-year-old Callum Wilson as “the key striking target”.

Such a move would see Wilson regularly teamed with England international team-mate Marcus Rashford.
The tabloid claims “Wilson is thought be valued at anywhere between £30m and £40m”.
During the summer, Wilson was linked with West Ham United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Everton and an eyebrow-raising figure of £70million was being touted, but Wilson would eventually go on to sign a new contract with the Cherries until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

I’d have Wilson over Rashford as a striker to be honest; one of the most overrated younger players in quite some time. He’s never scored more goals in a season than Joshua King, Bournemouth’s second-choice striker, even when he’s been played upfront. Even most United fans think he’s bang average. – Join the conversation, click here.
