Liverpool winger and four others to agree new deals

|

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has extended his loan contract with AFC Bournemouth and will remain on the south coast until the conclusion of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, which is expected to finish by the end of July.

Wilson’s loan deal was set to expire at the end of June, but the official website has now confirmed he will be remaining at Dean Court for the final nine games.

There are also six other first-team players who are set to see their contracts expire before the end of the current campaign, Jordon Ibe, Ryan Fraser, Simon Francis, Andrew Surman, Artur Boruc and Charlie Daniels.

The Daily Echo have reported that they expect the latter quartet to all sign short-term contracts.

The report read…

“…the club do not envisage any problems and fully expect them to sign up for the remainder of the season – with nine games left to seal survival at England’s elite level.

It is understood a short-term deal with winger Ryan Fraser is not as close at this stage, however.”

Ryan Fraser has been strongly linked with a potential summer move with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, whilst AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe had previously confirmed that winger Jordon Ibe would not be remaining with the club beyond the end of his contract.

I think Wilson has shown great commitment for a loan player and it’s another indication of his professionalism that he was happy to extend the loan in these unusual circumstances. It suggests that he has bought into being a member of OUR squad and would like to do his bit to get us out of trouble. More effective as a loanee than Ibe ever was as an expensive purchase. He also appears to know how to behave so he has totally won me over. He has been an excellent loan for us in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully, he feels that he has also benefited from his time with us. – Join the conversation, click here.
