A week after the Sky televised game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, the Cherries will be televised live against our visitors Liverpool on Sky with a 1.30 pm kick-off.
Jurgen Klopp is a manager who always has a smile on his face and seems a jovial character, one manager I have time for. He joined Liverpool in October 2015 around two months after AFCB visited Anfield in their first away game in the Premier League when Brendan Rodgers was coming towards the end of his three year reign as Liverpool manager.
Jurgen Klopp has strengthened his side by the Summer signings of Sadio Mane from Southampton. Goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz, who has taken over the number one jersey from Simon Mignolet. Georgino Wijnaldum from Newcastle United. Another keeper in 39-year-old Alex Manninger from Augsburg, Liverpool also signed his team mate from Augsburg the defender Ragnar Klavan. Joel Matip the central defender they have signed from Schalke, he has improved Liverpool`s defence this season. Among the players they have allowed to leave on transfers are Jordan Ibe who signed for us and Joe Allen who moved to Stoke City.
Liverpool are lying second in the table and have a good record on their travels so far, with important wins against Arsenal and Chelsea, in all they have won 4, drawn 2 and only defeat was at Burnley. At Anfield they have won 5 and drawn 1.
AFC Bournemouth Team News:
Jack Wilshere is available again after sitting out the game against his parent club Arsenal. No updated news over the fitness of Andrew Surman, Artur Boruc and Charlie Daniels ahead of Sunday`s game. Junior Stanislas is another player reported to be carrying a knock.
Player to watch: Jack Wilshere
With his recent improved performances and run of games (except for Arsenal), will be keeping an eye on Jack Wilshere to see if he can unlock the Liverpool defence who haven`t conceded a goal in their last two Premier League games. Will be good to see Jack open his scoring account after hitting the woodwork a few times in recent matches.
Liverpool Team News:
A big blow to Liverpool is the loss of Philippe Coutinho who was injured in their last game at Sunderland, the playmaker has 5 goals and 5 assists to his name this season so far. They have Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino on the injury list at the moment, will have to wait and see who might be available for Sunday. Another concern for Liverpool is the fitness of Joel Matip.
Player to watch: Sadio Mane
They have a number to choose from if fit, one player who should be available and even more important to the Liverpool side, is Sadio Mane who has 6 Premier League goals to his name and 2 assists since joining from Saints. He has a burst of pace that our defenders will have to keep an eye on. Roberto Firmino is another danger if he is fit. Adam Lallana and their captain Jordan Henderson both England Internationals will also be players who could take control of midfield and dictate the game for Liverpool.
Match Facts & Stats
Last season Liverpool beat AFCB at Dean Court and Anfield in the Premier League by the odd goal. In the game at Dean Court Jordan Ibe was their MOM with the two assists for their goals, Josh King scored late for our only goal.
